Why Halibut Over Cod
Most fish & chips use cod. We use fresh Alaska halibut — a local, premium white fish that's meatier, flakier, and far more flavorful. Halibut is caught fresh from Alaska waters and has a clean, sweet taste that stands up to the batter perfectly.
The Beer Batter
Our batter recipe uses local Alaska craft beer — currently Glacier Brewhouse IPA. The carbonation makes the batter light and airy, the hops add a subtle complexity. We double-fry the fries for maximum crispiness. House tartar sauce, malt vinegar on the side.

Our halibut fish & chips pairs perfectly with an Alaskan Amber or the Midnight Sun Kodiak Brown Ale. Add the salmon chowder to start. This is the quintessential Humpy's meal.
